We all have a mirror somewhere in the house. But you might not have given much thought to all that goes into making a mirror look great.
The first step is to choose which type of mirror glass you want.
1. Mirrored Glass - Simple mirrored glass can be cut to any size and is the more economical option.
2. Beveled Mirrored Glass - The Cadillac of mirrored glass . This choice is more expensive, but as with most things in life, you get what you pay for - you can't find a more opulent look. If you're fitting a particular space, your beveled glass will be custom made to your specifications. However, there are ways to keep the price down. You can order one of the standard, ready made sizes.
Once you make the decision of which glass to use, it then comes down to frame choice.
1. Width - the width of your frame will depend upon how heavy your glass is. You'll want to choose something that's wude enough to be structurally sound. And wide enough to make an impact.
2. Finish - if your mirror is going in a bathroom, many feel it's important to match the finish on the fixtures.
3. Surroundings - Also to be considered, the feel of the room where the mirror will be hung. Is it traditional? Modern? And what color is the wall? You may want a frame that will stand out or blend in.
